In 2021, the architect creating the Bear Lake Daycare came up with the concept of making it in the shape of a whale. They engaged Mac to create round skylights for the eyes, and skylights with blue glass for the fins. The results really speak for themselves – it’s a great place for children, enhanced with the natural light coming in through these installations.
Mac Plastics & Skylights acknowledges and respects the Néhiyaw (Cree), Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Métis, Nakoda (Stoney), Dene, Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) and Anishinaabe (Ojibway/Saulteaux) lands, that are now known as Treaty 6 and the homeland of the Métis Nation, whose ancestral homelands and unceded territories we gather, live, and work on.
