A few years ago some hunters from the Yukon approached us about making winter cargo sleds. They were able to purchase sleds to pull behind their Ski-Doos and ATVs in the snow, but they cost about $3,000 each and didn’t do everything they needed. We took on the challenge, creating our own design based on their input and producing the first model within a few weeks. We are able to sell them for half the price – $1,500.
Today we’re producing version 7 of the sleds in our Edmonton workshop, continuing to integrate design tweaks based on users’ input, in two sizes. The larger sled will carry more than 1,000 lbs of wood, game meat, gasoline, or water, allowing cost effective transportation of critical goods and hunted food when roads are impassable. Even the Canadian Armed Forces have tested the Mac sleds for potential use.
We have had a distributor in Whitehorse for a few years, and recently struck a deal with a second distributor in Prince George, making the Mac sleds more readily available for customers in north and central BC and AB.
