Our most popular design, the Dome, can be installed on virtually any type of roof. Each skylight incorporates a thermally broken aluminum base frame which is an important factor for colder climates. Glazing consists of single, double, or triple layers of thermally formed acrylic domes. Domes can be easily replaced if damaged. If the first layer were to ever crack or damage, we simply repair the outer layer rather than replace the entire skylight unit.
The elevated profile and sloped curb of the Dome shape helps to shed snow during the winter months and ensures proper water drainage year-round. These skylights can be mounted onto a flat curb as recommended in residential construction roof assembly. Our Mac Dome Skylights are designed to prevent any ice and water build up on the skylight’s exterior frame, so you’ll never have to worry about damage to your home.
Mac Plastics & Skylights acknowledges and respects the Néhiyaw (Cree), Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Métis, Nakoda (Stoney), Dene, Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) and Anishinaabe (Ojibway/Saulteaux) lands, that are now known as Treaty 6 and the homeland of the Métis Nation, whose ancestral homelands and unceded territories we gather, live, and work on.
